It was soooo cold, like teeth chattering cold, as I lay on my bed in the operating room waiting for my team to show up. Bursting through the door they came! Being the smart ass that I am greeted the docs with, "Did everyone wear their capes today?"
It was an early morning! I was prepped up on the 5th Floor. The nurses were very chipper for it being so early. I was given a little room where I was asked a bunch of questions and given a hospital gown to put on. They never ever feel soft and for some reason, I always seem to put mine on wrong, feeling completely exposed!
I was fortunate to be on a cancellation list and the university student waiting for the same surgery is in the middle of finals...lucky for me! When I received the call, my clock started counting down.

The end of November marks a decade of being released from a five month hospital stay of chemotherapy treatment and clean CT results. Along the way, I have had plenty of time to gather my list of good things that came from that journey. Here they are...
